Driver is a Hollywood stunt driver and wheelman for hire by
day and steers getaway vehicles for heists by night. He is a loner by nature
falls in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene, the wife of convicted Felon Standard, and
mother of her young kid Benicio.. Driver aids Standard in pulling off a daytime
robbery in order to pay for the protection provided in lock up. The robbery
goes unexpectedly awry costing Standard his life and hauling Irene and her son
into a deadly underworld of the heist. Driver finds himself driving defense for
the woman he loves, stalked by a group of deadly criminals. But when he
realizes that the thugs intend to kill Irene and her son - Driver is obliged to
shift gears and go on offense.
